What is something you realised recently that you can’t believe you didn't realise earlier?
Before having a baby 18 months ago, I never seemed to have enough time for what I wanted to do and I thought I knew what tiredness was.
What's one thing that you've always wanted to try but haven't gotten around to?
I was born in Colombia, and I emigrated with my family to Spain when I was 14 years old.
As I have grown older I’ve found that I have a great desire to visit and explore much more of South America.
Name one missed opportunity that may have changed your life
I was accepted for both Computer Science University and Military Technical Academy, but I went to the second one. I studied a lot of Electronics Engineering - I found it very interesting and now wonder what my path would be if I had chosen Computer Science University…. Somehow I feel that this was a missed opportunity.
What's one thing that you've always wanted to try but haven't gotten around to?
Traveling in a Caravan with my girlfriend through Europe. After much research, we’ve decided on a route that would take us through France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Austria. Hopefully this year we will be able to do this and mark it off of my "to do" list.
If you had to delete all but three apps on your phone, which ones would you keep?
Google Maps, TripAdvisor and Instagram - Instagram inspires me with new travel destinations, TripAdvisor provides recommendations about the best places to visit, eat and sleep and Google Maps helps me get around when I’m there.
You’re happiest when …
Generally when I’m exploring a new country with my wife - either trekking through beautiful untouched landscapes, experiencing a new culture or sampling the local food delights.
What has been your greatest adventure in your life so far?
Coming to live in the UK! I grew up in South Africa and when I had finished uni, I decided to spend a year in the UK. I had a great year but I was making plans to return home after the summer but I got a really good job offer and met my now husband in the same week. So I decided to stay and 16 years later I am still living here and loving it!
Coming to work at KPS has been another adventure, it was a complete career change as I had been working in corporate marketing but 7 years later, it was definitely one of the best decisions I ever made.
You’re happiest when …
Friday. Night. Wine
What is something you realised recently that you can’t believe you didn't realise earlier?
Green olives are black olives that aren't ripe yet. *Insert mind = blown gif*
The best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
'I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times' - Obviously I wasn't given this piece of advice personally as it is a quote from Bruce Lee, but I like it because the emphasis is on becoming great/an expert at one thing as opposed to being average at many.
The best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
You can do anything, but you can't do everything. Never measure your own achievements against other people's perceived success.
The funniest thing that has ever happened to you?
Probably the time I accidentally emailed my CEO's executive assistant calling her 'Rat' instead of Pat. She was a very stern woman and was not impressed. I was 18 and it was my first real job, in an investment bank, I thought I was going to get fired! But still couldn't stop hysterically laughing all day.
