The Senior E-commerce Business Analyst will have a highly collaborative and client facing role covering the full software development lifecycle from requirements elaboration and quality assurance, through to UAT and go-live. They will be the primary point of contact for the client regarding their functional and non-functional needs, collaborating with the client to design and implement business analysis processes that fits their maturity level, culture and internal processes. The Senior E-commerce Business Analyst will work closely with the more junior Business Analysts, supporting and matrix managing them on client-facing projects. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the holistic business analysis activities, and requirements elicitation and elaboration processes, for medium and large client-facing project
  • Conduct stakeholder analysis and interviews, and facilitate cross-functional workshops with key client stakeholders
  • Challenge and facilitate the prioritisation of client requirements, ensuring they are ‘needs’ not ‘wants’
  • Document elaborated requirements as User Stories in JIRA, with validated acceptance criteria, utilising the Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) style
  • Handover elaborated requirements to the development teams and support them by providing clarifications for development
  • Playback elaborated requirements / User Stories to the client for sign-off / approval
  • Estimate business analysis activities and assist the project manager with the scheduling and sequencing of business analysis deliverables
  • Proactively manage the client expectations around scope and requirements together with the Project Manager
  • Champion business analysis best practice with the client and internally
  • Mentor, matrix manage and quality assure the work of more junior Business Analysts on client-facing projects

Skills and experience:

  • Significant experience as a Business Analyst, working on E-commerce, Omnichannel Retail, Wholesale projects (B2C/B2B)
  • Exposure to multiple aspects of E-commerce, including products, pricing, content,search, promotions, order creation, order management, customer service, etc.
  • Proven experience working in an Agile methodology environment (e.g. SCRUM, DSDM, Lean/Kanban)
  • Practical knowledge and experience of the Atlassian software suite (JIRA & Confluence)
  • Confident and experienced facilitating client-facing workshop of up to 15 people, including senior managers
  • Broad experience using modelling techniques designed for business and systems’ analysis e.g. use case diagrams, process/flow diagrams, UML (class, sequence diagrams)
  • Experience of the whole solution development lifecycle discovery to service transition
  • Experience working with the SAP C/4 Suite e.g. Commerce Cloud / Hybris, Marketing Cloud, Customer Data Cloud (highly desirable)
